six months

Happy half year to my sweet, beautiful baby girl. You are such a fun baby. You squeal with laughter, especially whenever your brother is near. You love attention. You are very cuddly first thing in the morning and at bedtime. Most nights you fall asleep beside me in my bed. I get my snuggles in and then put you in your bed, where you sleep for 5.5 to 6.5 hours, eat, and then sleep another four or five hours. You wake up happy and are content to lay in your bed talking and playing until I come and get you up. That's probably my favorite moment of the day...when you first see me and give me the biggest smile ever.

At six months you:

*weigh 15lb,15oz (54th percentile), 26 inches long (64th percentile), head circumference 94th percentile. [For comparison, Zane's were 17.5lb, 26in, & 60th percentile]

*wear 3-6month/6month clothes & size 3 diapers

*take a short morning nap and then usually take a 2 or 2.5 hour afternoon nap.

*have been rolling back to front for awhile, but just today you decided to keep on rolling! I put you on your playmat and went to get a cup of coffee. This is how I found you when I came back:

*have had a runny nose and cough for the past week. After your shots on Friday, you ran a fever and we had a rough night sleeping.

*according to Ms. Jeri, you are "perfect" while mommy & daddy are at work

*kept your dad on his toes the first few months, but he says you like him a lot better now. Whenever I ask you where your dadda is, you always smile and look at him.

*give big open-mouthed kisses.

You are a little doll baby, which makes it hard for me to pick which pictures to post! Here are just a few more of my favorites.

Easter 2012

Easter in Wisconsin. A little sad to not be with our families, but thankful for our little family of four. We went to the 9:30 service at Door Creek. Zane loves Sunday School. I asked him what he learned today. "Jesus died." And then what happened? "He colored this picture." The attention span of a three year old! Ha! We talked last night about Easter, and what it means. Oh man, you wouldn't believe the questions that followed! Just a few: "Why those bad guys killed Jesus? They kill his mama and dada, too? Where those bad guys live? Jesus was SO mad at them? What was in that cave?" I think the Easter story is a little deep for this little guy, but we're planting the seeds.

Hollin went into church with Matt and I. She was pretty darn perfect. I wish I had a picture of her from the last 15 minutes of the service when she was snuggled up on her daddy's shoulder.
Matt worked yesterday and last night, so we decided that the easiest way to do lunch was to let Cracker Barrel do the cooking! Yummy and reminds us of the south. The first time either of us has ever eaten in a restaurant on a major holiday. Our neighbors are so sweet and have invited us to eat Easter dinner with them. Looking forward to good food and good friends. Zane loves their little girl, Siela. They will have fun hunting eggs together. I'll do another post of them from yesteray hunting eggs together. I'll also get pictures of the Easter baskets after Z & H wake up from naps. For now, more pictures from this morning.

Sweet stuff

What's sweeter than a nakey baby in a laundry hamper before bathtime? How about a clean baby all wrapped up in a soft towel?

And a big brother holding his sister's hand and talking to her.

And best of all, a sweet sleeping baby.

This sweet boy helped make Easter treats for his friends.

And of course 'helped' is code for 'ate all the marshmallows'.

But these were the sweetest birds' nests that I've ever eaten seen!

Happy Spring!

All boy

Zane wanted to play outside while I was cooking dinner. I looked out the window and saw that he had climbed the tree by our deck. He told me that I didn't need to call the fireman because he was a good tree climber. For the record, he was not good at climbing down. But look how proud he is of himself.

These tulips are growing in our front yard and they are beautiful! I can take no credit for them. Thank you to the people who lived here before us. Matt will be mad that I posted this picture because the grass is so tall. Sorry, our lawnmower is in the shop.

We're thankful that our first winter in Wisconsin was one of the warmest on record! To me, these tulips mean that spring is here and we are one more season closer to being back in Arkansas!

Back to the boy. He doesn't go anywhere without his hat, bandana, boots, and spurs. Actually, some days he wears scrubs (aka "doctor clothes"). He's affectionately known at the gym as 'Cowboy Zane' or 'Dr. Zane'. He loves it. And I love him. :)
